Robin & Louella Hanbury-Tenison have handed over Cabilla Manor to their son Merlin and his wife Lizzie and have built themselves a lovely new house close by.
The new home of explorer Robin and his wife Louella, who has been all over the world with him, The Old Deer House, is full of books he has written and interesting artefacts brought back from their travels.
Their home is beautifully decorated and furnished and guests are looked after wonderfully.
You will receive a warm welcome; tea on arrival, drinks, and we are happy to book you a table somewhere local for supper.
A delightful one bedroom summerhouse conversion in the garden. Wonderfully private and with a sensational view.
Dogs and children (a bell tent can be provided) very welcome!
Rates: £150 for two people and £100 single occupancy
We only stayed for a night and could not help but be impressed by the way that Luella and Robin made guests feel like part of their home and life in their amazing manor.
They are very interesting characters with plenty of traveller stories to tell, including a great one about Albania (I might be biased on this!).
If you decide to visit Cornwall this is the perfect destination and you're in for a very unique experience!

Our Gold Standard of B & Bs. Louella and Robin are very interesting people. We were offered tea upon arrival. Some hosts give you tea and disappear, but Louella sat down with us to get acquainted. She will call for dinner reservations, then arm you with a map of how to get there, and perhaps a different way back to Cabilla.
Her cooked breakfasts are first-rate, made better because she and Robin will sit and visit over the meal.

Dogs are welcome, but not in the house.
They may sleep in your car, or with our dogs
